Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
