It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her newest gem.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was underway.

"An opportunity to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was out the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as leader.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
