The Austrian squad has announced significant changes for the 2026 F1 campaign, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat. The young driver, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, is set to become the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the junior outfit VCARB. This driver musical chairs sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive following a five-year stint. Who is Arvid Lindblad? Arvid Lindblad took part in first practice for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. Lindblad has been marked out as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Talking about the company's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "raw pace". The team has had a plan since last year to ready Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, featuring appearances in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", commenting: "2026 will be a big challenge, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started." Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 this year and is P6 in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. A Major Opportunity for Hadjar Isack Hadjar enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race in August. Hadjar's F1 career started on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers this season. His performances included an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the drivers' standings. The team principal said: "Isack has shown impressive growth and proved to be a quick learner. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can succeed alongside Max." The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "up for the challenge". Tsunoda's Exit To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson over Tsunoda. The New Zealander began the season with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. However, he has found his form at Racing Bulls with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, in contrast, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements mean that there remains no spot on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
