Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for more assaults.
